1.3 Projects and Project types

Projects group documents, e.g. all calculations, orders or offers of a customer can be stored together in a project. Thereby a quick overview about the commercial course with a customer can be made. Important is, that if bills, orders and offers were grouped in the project calculations, but the user just had access to the orders, he also would just see orders but not the bills and the offers. The permissions in a project cause only, that one can see or change a project, they have no influence to the documents contained in the project.

Just like documents, projects own attributes, too; for a customer, this could be the address or the customer number. Which attributes a project owns, depends on the type of the project.

In Main//Pyrus you can create different project types, and as well as with the classes you can define information fields that are invalid for documents but valid for projects. You can also give a certain default like the format string for the information of a project that forces a certain value. Thereby you make it possible to create e.g. a project type „customer act“ with fields for other additional information unlike the type „product“. For this type you would need at least the customer name and a customer ID that you would fill in for every project and in this case for every customer.
