The spanning search offers a powerfull posibillity to find documents across the class. You can search in every field with the name “customer ID“ after the value “42“. Thereby all documents with the customer ID 42 will be found independent from the previrious grouping in the projekts (also see projekt search). But no documents will be found with e.g the bill-number 42 or something like that unlike if you would perform a full text search.

The spanning search unites fields with the same names. If columns would exist in more than one classes with e.g the name “customer ID“ you can search across the classes for the document with the proper value.
If you want to perform a spanning search you first have to adjust the classes. Because Main//Pyrus only offer columns for spanning search if you defined them before.
